To the RainCoast Dog Rescue Society Team, Family, Friends, and Community.

The PHS Community Services Society community was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jesse Adams, co-founder of RainCoast Dog Rescue Society. On behalf of our residents, shelter guests, and staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jesse’s family, friends, and colleagues, as well as everyone at RainCoast Dog Rescue who had the privilege of working alongside him.

We join the many people whose lives were touched by Jesse in mourning the loss of an extraordinary individual whose compassion, generosity, and commitment to animal welfare left a lasting impact on the communities and people he served.

For many years, RainCoast Dog Rescue Society has been a source of support and compassion for many of the individuals served by PHS Community Services Society in Victoria and Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Jesse understood something that many people overlook: for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, illness, trauma, or housing instability, pets are family. They provide companionship, comfort, purpose, and unconditional love during life’s most difficult moments.

Through RainCoast, Jesse helped fund emergency veterinary treatment, provided food and essential supplies, donated pet care equipment, and assisted with fostering and rehoming animals during times of crisis. His generosity ensured that many people facing significant challenges could continue caring for the animals they loved.

Thank you, Jesse, for your compassion, your generosity, and your unwavering belief that every animal deserves care and every person deserves the opportunity to keep a beloved companion safe and healthy.

Your kindness made a lasting difference in the lives of countless animals and the people who loved them. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

With gratitude, respect, and sincere condolences,
PHS Community Services Society
