PHS Community Services Society is a charitable non-profit organization founded in 1991, operating in Vancouver and Victoria. Our priority is to develop, maintain and promote affordable housing for people who are underserved elsewhere in the community due to their physical health, mental health, behavioural issues, substance dependencies, forensic history, and for those who are homeless. All of our operations aim to foster a sense of community, encouraging members to accept and support one another while empowering them to determine their own course of recovery.

Your donations support housing, healthcare, harm reduction and community in the Downtown Eastside and Victoria.
PHS supports a variety of initiatives that employ and empower people in our community such as East Van Roasters coffee shop, Community Thrift and Vintage store and the needle exchange service, Spikes on Bikes. Your donation goes towards funding enterprises that help connect and engage people to their surrounding community.
First Nations Programs
We sit on the unceded traditional territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil Waututh) and sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Coast Salish peoples and honour that in our First Nations and Indigenous programming. Your donation will offer support to members of the Downtown Eastside community through cultural therapies and programs, outreach services and traditional medicines.
Your gift will support the overall mission of PHS and ensure we continue to meet the needs of housing, healthcare and harm reduction in the community.
Mental Health and Addictions
Many members of our community work through complex trauma and addiction. Your donation supports our internationally renowned programs and services creating a positive impact on the lives of people in need.
Shortages of social housing has increased homelessness in both Vancouver and Victoria, and put a significant strain on social services in the community. Your donation will ensure that someone in need has the opportunity to sleep in a dry, safe space and have a place to call home.
Managed Alcohol Program
Your donation assists us in providing reliable medical services to those who struggle with alcoholism and addiction to non-beverage alcohol. Research shows that our managed alcohol program, offered in conjunction with housing, connects more people to community and their families and positively affects their long term physical and psychological health outcomes.
