Hastings Folk Garden
The Hastings Folk Garden is a space of green respite, that includes a traditional sweat lodge, medicinal plants and pollinator friendly forage, an apiary and beneficial insect habitat. The Folk Garden is opened daily by community volunteers, the Gatekeeper Program.
Hives for Humanity
Hives for Humanity is a registered non profit society that was founded as a result of a successful pilot bee hive at the Hastings Folk Garden in the summer of 2012, in partnership with the PHS. Hives for Humanity provides therapeutic opportunities through the culture that surrounds the hive, offering supportive programming and pre-vocational skills training, connecting people and pollinators, and enhancing community through apiculture.
