Shelter, clinical supports
The Arbutus Shelter operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help address the ongoing need for round-the-clock low-barrier resources for people experiencing homelessness in Victoria.
Located at Douglas Street Community, the shelter provides three meals a day, co-ed and women’s (trans-inclusive) sections, and harm reduction supports. The shelter is accessible for people with mobility needs, and there are emergency mats for additional spaces at short notice.
PHS mental health workers are on hand to support shelter guests and help them apply for housing, social assistance and health-related supports. The shelter also hosts medical clinics.
