PHS Helps Open a Shelter in Sechelt

When Harry Paul, a 56 year old homeless Gibsons man, was found dead after spending a night outdoors in exposed to cold winter weather, the community and BC Housing raised the funds needed to open an emergency cold weather shelter during winter months. To help prepare, BC Housing sent a team of PHS staff and health care workers to assist get the shelter running, train existing staff to handle higher capacities, and fill positions until a local workers could be found.
